Jesus declared, “You are the salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” Salt speaks of a covenantal and faceless people that can only be identified together – one grain of salt is neither potent nor recognizable. Salt is only as powerful as it’s body, it’s batch or handful. It changes and influences everything it touches – only a small portion changes the whole part. It keeps the body hydrated, and all the cells, nerves, muscles and brain properly functioning. Science says, if the world was suddenly without salt, cows would stop giving milk, the atmosphere of the earth would drastically change, the sea, animal life and all humanity would eventually die.

Light is defined as an energy that science calls, electromagnetic radiation – a radiation that travels at 186,000 miles per second, that we can see. Not like radio waves, or micro waves and other waves which we cannot see; but the detection of light is part of man’s creation and his connection to the universe around him.
